Initial Visit and Consultation
When you have contacted me, I will arrange an initial visit to discuss your garden - what your preferences are, your
practical requirements and thoughts to date. I will write and give you a quote for the initial visit which usually lasts about half a day.
Usually a fixed price is agreed for the time taken developing the design and producing the masterplan - a crafted, hand-drawn A3 annotated colour drawing. If supporting drawings are required, these are charged for on an individual basis, accounting for the time spent doing the work. I can also design a bespoke Lighting system for your garden, should you so decide, which we can both supply and install for you, for a separate fee.
This is the next stage.
A detailed site survey will inform the developing design.
The dimensions of the house, boundaries, existing features, levels and soil type will be recorded.
The concept plan and any supporting sketches can now be developed from all the information gleaned at the initial visits. This acts as a discussion document enabling me to present our ideas and develop the design further. This will act as a blueprint for the next stage.
Layout Plan and Written Description
This is a to scale, working A3 colour drawing, the plan from which the garden can be costed, set out, and built. The written description describes the style and what the garden consists of. Any appropriate specific details will be included in this document. I request that the design fee is paid at this stage.
The Planting Plan shows the specific plants and their location in the intended planting scheme, allowing the appropriate plants to be sourced to produce the required effect. As already mentioned, Stephan will give advice and make suggestions, however a separate fee, distinct from the landscaping design fee, is charged for this comprehensive planting plan document.
